One of the joys of staying at Mt Field Retreat is how close the wildlife feels. From pademelons on the forest edge to the chance of a platypus in a quiet creek, this guide helps you look carefully, stay safe, and enjoy every encounter.

All wildlife in Mt Field National Park is protected. Stay at least 2 metres away, never feed animals, and report injured or sick wildlife to the park rangers.

A note from your hosts

All wildlife in Mt Field National Park is protected. Observe animals from a safe distance — at least 2 metres — never feed them, and respect their natural behaviour. Report any injured or sick animals to the park rangers on (03) 6288 1149.
