Your Pod

Everything you need for a comfortable base beside the national park

Welcome to your pod

We call them pods, but there's nothing makeshift about these modern, self-contained apartments. Greg and Rachel designed them for comfort, quiet and a simple base from which to explore Mt Field National Park.

Whether you're here for a slow couple of nights, a family adventure or a solo reset, we hope you love your stay.

Check-in: from 2:00 pm · Check-out: 10:00 am

Self check-in with your room number and digital door code (sent by email before arrival).

Self-contained kitchen

Fridge, two-burner stovetop, microwave and dishwasher in every pod — plus the basics for a comfortable stay.

Heating & cooling

Heat pumps keep you toasty in winter and cool in summer. Sometimes you'll want both on the same day — this is Tassie, after all.

Free satellite Wi‑Fi

Fast, free satellite internet in every pod. Access details are waiting for you inside.

Rainfall showers

A proper rinse after a day on the tracks — guests keep mentioning the showers in their reviews.

A look inside

House rules & how things work

Wastewater System

  • Mt Field Retreat has its own wastewater treatment system.
  • Only flush the provided toilet paper — nothing else.
  • Do not wash food, fats, or oils down the sink.
  • Please scrape plates, pots and pans clean of debris and fat before loading the dishwasher.
  • Tap water is treated town water and is safe to drink.

Good to know

  • Check-in is from 2:00 pm. Check-out is 10:00 am.
  • Wi‑Fi is free satellite internet in every pod — access details are inside your pod.
  • Free-to-air TV is available; reception varies because of our remote location.
  • All check-ins are digital — we don't have a staffed office on site. Keep your room number and door code handy (sent by email before arrival).
  • Parking is in spaces marked with white dots. Accessible parks for Pods 1 and 12 are clearly marked.
  • Mt Field Retreat is smoke-free indoors and on balconies. The designated smoking area is the car park at the rear of the pods (at least 3 metres from windows and heat-pump intakes).
  • Native animals may visit. Stay at least 2 metres away, never feed wildlife, and don't leave food or shoes on decks overnight.
  • Greg and Rachel are available on the retreat phone after hours for absolute emergencies only. Please wait until business hours for non-urgent requests.
