Welcome to Mt Field Retreat

A digital guide for your booking — helpful before you arrive, and right through until check-out

Settle in before you set out

From the moment you book, you're part of a story Greg and Rachel have been building for more than a decade on the edge of Mount Field National Park. This guide gathers the practical bits and the local know-how — so you can spend less time figuring things out, and more time in the ferns, on the tracks, and watching for wildlife.

Our story

Mt Field Retreat grew from Greg and Rachel's long love of this valley — years of building, learning and creating a place that showcases the Upper Derwent with care.

Today, twelve self-contained pods offer modern comfort with a deep connection to nature. Whether you're walking to Russell Falls, fishing the Tyenna, or simply listening to the rain on the roof, we're honoured to be part of your Tasmanian stay.
